The X-Rite® ShadeVision® System

X-Rite developed the ShadeVision System to help dentists and dental laboratories achieve highly accurate tooth-shade matches. The ShadeVision System eliminates the subjectivity of the human eye, improves the communication between the dentist and laboratory and gives the laboratory the ability to control the color accuracy of the restoration prior to placement in the patient’s mouth.

The ShadeVision System gives today’s dentist a greater level of confidence in the cosmetic accuracy of their restorations.

“These systems take a shade better than the human eye— they reduce the number of remakes and save time. Conventional shade taking requires 10 – 15 minutes to get a good reading on a single central. It takes about 1 minute with a computerbased system”

Effective communication

Communicating color and verifying results is as simple as Point, Send, Match and Smile

POINT

  • Cordless and portable hand-held instrument
  • Consistent light source for an accurate measurement regardless of ambient illumination
  • Touch screen display allows unique “line of sight” viewing for proper positioning

SEND

  • Work orders can be sent to the laboratory electronically, saved to a disk or printed out

MATCH

  • Full color image, color grid and value maps provide detailed information necessary to accurately fabricate the restoration
  • The “Virtual Try-in” feature allows the lab technician to verify the restoration’s shade prior to patient try-in. The technician compares the restoration visually with the original images supplied by the dentist

SMILE

  • Once the dentist receives and seats the final restoration, all that is left for the patient to do is…Smile
